How To Deal With Anxiety And Depression During The Fall

It is still fall and it is magical out there. But during this captivating season, there are diseases, which are slowly sharpening. I can easily remember how scared I felt when the fall was coming because I knew my anxiety and depression was about to get bigger and louder. I was totally scared of this season. Now, almost two years later, I enjoy the fall season like a normal person.
My story with anxiety and depression started almost six years ago. At this time I was so fearless, so full of hope and dreams. I was thinking I can handle anything that comes in my way. And kinda it was like that for a long time. All of this was because I was super organized and I spent zero time for myself and my needs. I was always doing many things at a time – working, studying, training, taking a driving license, looking for my family and friends. That’s how I got my nervous vegetative dystonia (and depression later).I was being super anxious all the time, I had fear of everything. Panic attacks were just a small part of the whole process. With time I developed depression, which was the scariest part of my life. I was insecure, full of fear and dark thoughts. My mind was a total mess. At some point, I needed to give this a deep thought. I knew these diseases were telling me something. Something wasn’t right in my life and needed to be changed. So I changed a lot of things and I am still changing, but that’s how I cured myself of anxiety and depression. But enough with my story. My point was that I was getting much worse in the months from the end of September until March. Especially in November and December when the weather is dark and rainy and when the day is getting smaller. And I know you do too.
After a long and deep observation, I found a few tricks and tips which were helping me in the fight with these scary diseases. Keep in mind two things. First, I am not a doctor and these things are something that helped me, but for you, there could be other solutions. Second – you have to change the way you are thinking and all the parts of your life which you don’t like to heal from anxiety and depression. If I can do it, you can too!
Here are the tips to help you manage your condition!
That is the first thing you should start doing because it takes more time. Just try every night before going to sleep to visualize how actually anxiety and depression free you from the unwanted parts of your life. Think about how and what do you want to do if it weren’t these conditions in your life. Another idea is to imagine the diseases as if they were balloons. Let them go! Thank them for the lessons they gave you and let them go with a smile and a gratitude. If your imagination can’t think of anything you can find many guided visualizations on Youtube. I won’t lie to you – it’s hard and it takes some time to see the things clearly, but I promise you that really works.
Journaling is a great way to share all your emotions. It is going to be your new best friend because you are going to share everything there.
I am very emotional but I always tended to keep everything in me. I didn’t want to bother my family and my friends with all the problems I had. It might sound like nothing to you, but trust me it is a real problem. Don’t do like me, don’t keep everything in you. When you are thinking something – say it out loud! Don’t keep this poison in you! If you are more like me and don’t want to bother your friends just write down everything in your journal. My advice is to take it everywhere with you and in the moment you want to share something write it down. This method really helped me to manage my feelings. I am sure you have heard about both of these. If you are not so much into pills like me I bet you thought: “These are not going to help me!”. The truth is they are going to ease your conditions. They both have amazing qualities, not only connected to your mental health, but for your overall health. Magnesium keeps me energized and more mentally stable. But the truth is I am a bigger fan of Omega 3. Everythime I feel the first symptoms of depression I start taking Omega 3 and it brings me back to track for 3-4 days. This pushes me far away from these conditions for only a few days. They both are natural products, not a chemistry or poison. I don’t eat foods with magnesium and Omega 3 and that’s why I need to get them from somewhere else. They are the perfect weapon against anxiety and depression. - Healthy lifestyle
Yes, I understand it is not easy and you don’t have time, but we all have busy lives. I work a regular job and work on my blog at the same time, but all you need is 15 to 30 minutes a day to do some exercises. It is possible! Don’t get me wrong – I love chocolate more than everything else. I actually had an eating disorder and it took me years to won this constant fight obsession with chocolate. Trust me, chocolate + anxiety + depression is not a good combination. It is actually the worst. I found out that food, which is rich in protein like eggs, meat and yogurt make me feel a lot better. Just listen to your body and you are going to improve not only your mental but your overall health.If you are not a fitness lover you can try working out at home. I feel most comfortable when I do exercises at home. Plus you can wear cute sports outfits like this super cute activewear set.
- The secret ingredient – Turmeric
This main spice used in Indian dish curry is a powerful tool. It could be your weapon against depression. Turmeric has many healing powers. It is one of the best medicinal herbs. I find turmeric being especially effective in managing the depression symptoms. In the minute I feel the symptoms kicking in I make my special depression free beverage. I put in a jar warm water, honey, lemon, and turmeric. I won’t lie to you – it’s not pretty and it’s not the best taste in the world, but it really helps against depression.
