Here I am going to share with you what exactly is the Paleo diet, the Paleo’s essence. It is really simple actually. Paleo is known as the caveman diet. The meaning of this is based on what our ancestors ate. And we all know they mostly ate animals and wild plants. It is that simple!
Many people are trying to find the answer but there is so much information on the Internet it is hard to process all of it. People tend to make it difficult when it can be really easy. Another struggle people have is the difficulty to obtain the actual food.
If it is still hard to understand just imagine you are in a place without any stores and you have to survive somehow. What are you going to do then? What are you going to eat? I hope this answers your question.
This lifestyle promotes the consumption of natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, organic meats, seeds, nuts and unrefined vegetable oils.
There are also foods you should not eat such as gluten and lactose foods. You have to forget about sugar, alcohol, grains and any processed foods.

What you can eat
I know it may sound like there is not a variety of the foods which you can eat but that’s not true. You just have to change your way of thinking and you will see what a great choice you have. Let’s start with meat. You can pick up the one you love the most or just try all of them. The selection of meat consists of chicken, turkey, beef, veal, rabbit, duck and pig. You see? You can also eat fish such as salmon, halibut, tuna, sardine, cod or haddock. If you are a seafood lover you can add to your diet oysters, prawns, lobster, clams, crabs or mussels. I am not the biggest fan of fish that’s why I use this Omega-3 Fish Oil.
I am a huge lover of eggs and I can eat them in any possible form. If you are like me you will be happy to know you can eat eggs during your Paleo diet.
Vegetables are really important part of this lifestyle and in any other lifestyle. Here we have a huge variety which includes carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin.
Sometimes I need something sweet in my mouth. I crave for chocolate but instead, I try to eat fruits. You should too! Always choose the natural option! When you are on a Paleo diet you can eat apples, different berries, oranges, melon, bananas, coconut, and pineapples.
If you want to add some natural sugar flavor always use Pure Maple Syrup. I personally use this maple syrup and I love it. It’s the best sweetener ever. If you want to try something different you can also use Honey.
As I already said you have to forget about the bad fats. You can only keep the good ones such as avocados, almond, butter, coconut oil ( my favorite one is Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil), olive oil ( I use and recommend this Extra Virgin Olive Oil ).
You have the right to eat nuts and seeds. In your list are almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, sunflowers seeds, pumpkin seeds, raisins, and prunes.
You can also use fresh herbs and spices to give your food a better taste. Banana, coconut and almond flour are good for your Paleo regime. Coconut milk and coconut butter are also allowed.
