The fall season is here! YAY! This means it is time for a change. At least, that’s how I think of this gorgeous season. Fall is the perfect time to transform your life. It is also the best time to spend time with yourself and the people you love. Self-care is really important!

When I had my anxiety and depression I learned the hard way self-care is much needed from time to time. We have to spend quality time and taking care of our minds and bodies.

Self-care is the only way, which will lead you to a healthy and happy life. That’s the point, right?! We all want to be healthy and happy!

Life happens. Sometimes we get so stressed out by leading this busy life. Once you feel overwhelmed you should stop, breathe and take a step back to recharge your batteries.

October could be the beginning of your new life. You can start right now. I already started and if you follow me on Instagram you can see how every day I share my ways to be healthy and happy. You don’t need the whole day to treat yourself somehow. But if you have a whole day – take it and spend it the way you want it. The truth is, you need an hour per day to keep up with your great mental health. You can spend this hour the way you really want it. I love watching movies with my guy, laugh, take a walk or make a dinner. These are all things I LOVE doing. They make me feel relaxed. Just find your activity and dedicate one hour to it.

At the end of the post, I will link all the resources that make me happy and healthy. They are all part of my everyday life my self-care toolkit.

 


 

How to live a healthy life

There is no need to tell you how important it is for you to lead a healthy life. Being healthy is the best feeling ever. You will look great and feel even better. This feeling is priceless!

I am going to share with you my ways to stay healthy and live life in favor of that. I hope you are going to find some inspiration and transform your life by implementing some of the strategies.

The first part of living a healthy life is to be calm and relaxed. I feel that is the most important part of the process. At least, that’s how I feel about that. I know what you are going to say – it’s easy said than done, right?! I know, I know. Leading a stressful and busy life is part of everyone’s life lately. That’s part of the game called ”life”. There are so many ways to make you feel relaxed. You can read a book or meditate, both are great ways to cope with stress. Meditation and visualization can be really helpful for your good mental health. Another great thing to help you with stress is doing exercises. A sport can be really beneficial not only for the way you look but for the way you feel. Not to mention, the other great benefits of exercising.

This leads to the second part of living a healthy life – exercising or being physically active. As a matter of fact, that’s probably my favorite part of living a healthy life. Physical activity is known as one of the best stress relievers. And it’s absolutely true. I started working out when I had my anxiety and depression. At first, it was really hard and I wanted to quit. Every minute was filled with pain. I didn’t quit. Now I am in love with the process of working out. I do it every single day and it’s the best part of my day.

Tip – start small by working out three to five times a week for 10-15 minutes. Your body will tell you when it’s ready to level up the exercises. And don’t quit. After a month of being active, you will start feeling the great change in yourself. To shape a new habit all you need is to be consistent for 21 days. Try that and you won’t regret it.

I think the most important part of having a healthy lifestyle is the food you eat. After all, what you put in your body could heal you or make you feel sick. As a matter of fact, this is the part more people struggle with. Me too. More and more people suffer from eating disorders. They want to be skinny. That’s a real mental illness. I had an eating disorder and the truth is I still struggle with keeping my eating habits healthy. My tip is to start by changing something small. For example, I love chocolate, lots of chocolate. I started by replacing my favorite treats with healthy options. This is a long and hard process. But at the end of the day, you will feel great. Your mental health will thank you for making the right choice.

In the long run, these are the things you have to consider to be a healthier version of yourself. All of them are the main components of your overall health.

 


 

How to live a happy life

Being happy is a state of your mind. You should take care of it. You are the only person, who can me you happy. Of course, other people can make you happy too. But you should start with yourself first.

Get to know yourself better. Find the things that make you happy, the things that make you feel relaxed and the other things that make your heart skip a beat.

For example, nature makes me happy. Being surrounded by the gorgeous colors of nature is magnificent. I also love walking – it is perfect not only for my mental health but also for my physical health. It is a win-win. When I combine these two things I feel the best. But most of all I love being on the road with my favorite person. Exploring new places, getting to know new people makes my heart beat faster. That’s why I spend every free minute with him on the road. I guess you already get the point.

Find a happy place and a happy activity. Spend time surrounded by the people you love. Read, love, cook, dance, do whatever makes you happy. Life gets better when you have a positive outlook and do the things you are passionate about. A positive mindset can transform your whole life and bring you all you ever wanted.

Self-care should be a priority for you. In order to transform your life, you should start doing small gestures to yourself. Find time for yourself and your favorite activities, think positive and dare to really live.

I dare you to do something nice for yourself right now. Stop working, stop doing other things. Close your eyes for 2 minutes, think about something nice. Pour a glass of wine and take your favorite book or go for a walk. I dare you!

  • Food is SO important! It amazes me that in the age of information there are people who aren’t making the connection between their diet and mental health. Personally, if I have a few days where I eat more sweet food than normal with lots of sugar that my mental state suffers and I find myself being a bit grumpy.
